Onika Tanya Maraji, better known to the world as "Nicki Minaj" is a charismatic and glamourous female rapper from Queens, NY. She has captivated many fans with her unique voice, hard-hitting punchlines and catchy slogan "Its Barbie Bitches". Lil Wayne, the president of Young Money Entertainment took notice to Nicki Minaj talents and decided to sign her in the summer of 2009 with distribution from Universal Motown. In past year, Nicki Minaj has appeared in numerous collaborations with well-kown mainstream artists that have increase her fanbase. Nicki Minaj has worked with acts such as Lil wayne, Drake, Ludacris, Sean Garrett, Yo Gotti, Gyptian and plenty others. Nicki Minaj and her labelmates (Lil Wayne,Gudda Gudda, Drake, Jae Millz, Mack Maine and Lil Twist) came out with "We Are Young Money" on December 21, 2009. The studio album by the Young Money Group was successful and reached # 1 on U.S. Billboard Top Rap Albums. Now, Nicki Minaj is now ready to push forth into the music industry with her first solo album which is slated to come out in mid-November. Nicki dropped her first official record "massive attack" in early spring which received mix reviews by critics and fans. Recently, she released her second official single "Your Love" to national and internaitonal radio stations. Also, Ms. Minaj created an artistic music video for the head-nodding single produced by Papa Justifi of Knigwritaz. Fans have taken more of an likenss to the "Your Love" song because of its slow jam vibe and softly echoing sounds that Nicki rhymes over. We will have to wait and see how Nicki Minaj does in album sales to truly know if she is LOVED.....hehe
